Asian Pacific American Advisory Council

The Asian Pacific American Advisory Council serves as University of Arizona ambassadors, working collaboratively with university leadership to support the institution’s mission. Our end goal is to significantly increase the enrollment and graduation of students that represent our diverse communities and who are well equipped to achieve professional, career, and life success in a highly competitive local, national, and global marketplace.

We are committed to serving as a communications conduit between Southern Arizona’s Asian Pacific American communities and the UA. We also value and welcome your input. Please email your questions, suggestions, or comments. Contact us:

Meetings

The Advisory Council members are alumni, educators, retirees and community members who are interested in helping the university achieve its goal of embracing our diversity as a strategic source of strength. The Advisory Council meetings are open to community members. If you are a community member who is interested in joining or attending the APA Advisory Council meetings, please contact the Office of Diversity & Inclusion at inclusion@arizona.edu for more information.

Initiatives for 2023-2024

  • Assist the UA to develop and offer an Asian Pacific American Studies course: A hallmark of a strong public research institution is to offer all students the opportunity to learn about the people who have contributed to the rich history and accomplishments of our nation and state. While the UA offers courses and degrees in other ethnic studies programs, it does not offer a course in Asian Pacific American Studies.
  • A speed-networking event between Advisory Council members and students in the spring.
